Royal Crown Derby Visitors Centre

Established in the Georgian era of 1750, Royal Crown Derby manufactures the world’s finest tableware in the very heart of England. The exciting exhibition at the Royal Crown Derby Visitor Centre tells the story of their heritage, as well as showcasing the company’s exclusive range of fine bone china that has been serving the likes of the Royal family, hotels and restaurants over the last 265 years. Truly a marvellous and educational day out for any keen historians or budding artists in the family.

Exhibition

The insightful exhibition presents some of the rarest and earliest pieces created in Derby history, including an incredibly detailed 18th century ornamental clock, which is one of only a few to have ever been made.

Information in the new exhibition is taken from surviving documents and letters dating back to the Georgian period, giving a fascinating and a deeper understanding into Royal Crown Derby’s heritage and reputation with members of the high society.

Factory Tours

The Royal Crown Derby tour is a must to truly appreciate the care and attention that goes into all of their bespoke and intricate pieces that have been created. Each tour is taken by an informative and friendly guide who will answer all of your questions, however small or detailed they may be. They are on hand to explain in detail about each stage of the manufacturing process.

Another addition to the factory tour is the chance to explore the museum and have exclusive access to view one of the biggest collections of Derby porcelain across the globe.

Facilities

During your visit at Royal Crown Derby, you can embrace the 1700’s in the Tea Room by enjoying delicious homemade afternoon tea, with a selection of speciality tea, coffee and cakes all served on beautiful Royal Crown Derby fine bone china.
